CSD 3596 - STUTTERING


credits: 3.0
Objectives: A) Demonstrate knowledge of the varied dimensions of stuttering behavior; B) Demonstrate knowledge of the terminology of stuttering behavior; C) Demonstrate knowledge of the various theories of stuttering; D) Demonstrate knowledge of the development and progression of stuttering; E) Describe the various therapeutic procedures of stuttering remediation. Method of Instruction: Will be taught primarily through lecture and class discussions. Audio and video tapes will also be used to demonstrate various stuttering behaviors. Method of Evaluation: Mid-term exam, final exam, and referenced paper. Class participation and discussions will be considered.

Prerequisite(s): CSD 2100 - INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATIVE DISORDERS  and CSD 2150 - ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY FOR SPEECH AND LANGUAGE  and CSD 2250 - LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT  and CSD 2250 - LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT  and CSD 3590 - ARTICULATION AND PHONOLOGY DISORDER
