CSD 3750 - CLINICAL PRACTICUM: AUDIOLOGY credits: 1.5 ea. (two times) Objectives: A) Students will apply the theoretical knowledge and clinical techniques acquired in their study of audiometry and hearing disorders; B) Students will exhibit a professional attitude and be responsible for the management and testing of clients assigned. Method of Instruction: Students will be assigned individual time slots in which they will be responsible for audiometric evaluations throughout the term. Students will meet once a week, in addition to their assigned times for a general discussion of procedures and clinical cases. Method of Evaluation: Students will be evaluated on their clinical performance which includes reliability, preparation, professionalism, report writing, responsibility, and technique application using the Clinical Assessment Tool (CAT) and will complete a self-evaluative process using the Self-Evaluation Clinical Assessment Tool (SECAT).
Prerequisite(s): Program Director’s Signature Required and completion of observation requirement and CSD 2100 - INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATIVE DISORDERS and CSD 2300 - HEARING SCIENCE and CSD 2600 - HEARING DISORDERS AND ASSESSMENT (or) CSD 2100 - INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATIVE DISORDERS and CSD 2350 - SPEECH AND HEARING SCIENCE and CSD 2700 - INTRODUCTION TO AUDIOLOGY
