ECO 2010 - PRINCIPLES OF MICROECONOMICS credits: 3.0 NOTE: Either ECO 2010 or ECO 2020 can be taken first. Objectives: To introduce the student to the fundamentals of microeconomic theory. The basic tools of economics will be presented and then applied to specific issues. The decision-making behavior of consumers and firms will be stressed. There is a dual objective of preparing students to take more advanced courses in economics and giving students who do not desire to take further courses a sound grounding in economics so they may act as informed citizens. Method of Instruction: Lecture and discussion and classroom experiments. Students are expected to have read assigned material prior to class. Meets *MQR Distribution Requirements.
Prerequisite(s): ALEKS score of > 46 will also be required and MAT 1030 - COLLEGE ALGEBRA (or) MAT 1060 - MODELING THE REAL WORLDWITH MATHEMATICS (or) MAT 1090 - PRECALCULUS (or) MAT 2010 - CALCULUS I .
