MAT 2090 - STATISTICAL METHODS


credits: 4.0
This course is a survey of the principal means of analyzing and evaluating quantitative data. The course will include an introduction to the statistical package MINITAB. Students will use MINITAB to complete a series of laboratory assignments paralleling the development of topics in the lecture sessions. Topics will include: The Design of Statistical Studies (Sampling), Descriptive Statistics, Probability and Probability Distributions, Estimation and Hypothesis Testing, Correlation and Regression. Method of Instruction: Four hours of lecture, discussion, and MINITAB lab assignments. Method of Evaluation: Grades will be based on the evaluation of examinations, written assignments and MINITAB assignments. Meets *MQR Distribution Requirements.

Prerequisite(s): ALEKS score of at least 46 and either MAT 1030 - COLLEGE ALGEBRA  (or) MAT 1060 - MODELING THE REAL WORLDWITH MATHEMATICS  (or) MAT 1090 - PRECALCULUS  (or) MAT 1091 - PRE-CALCULUS I  (or) MAT 1092 - PRE-CALCULUS II  (or) MAT 1930 - IMMERSION COLLEGE ALGEBRA  (or) MAT 2010 - CALCULUS I  (or) MAT 2020 - CALCULUS II
