CYS 4000 - CYBERSECURITY CAPSTONE credits: 3.0 Technology is racing forward, and cybersecurity must stay ahead to meet new challenges and threats. In this class, you will learn about the changing landscape of cybersecurity, emerging mobile technologies that are likely to be targeted, and new forms of cyber-attacks being launched. By the end of the course, you will be able to implement the most cutting-edge practices in cybersecurity in order to protect against attacks. Objectives: A) Apply advanced risk assessment methodologies to identify and prioritize potential threats and vulnerabilities in complex systems and environments; B) Design and implement comprehensive security controls and countermeasures that effectively mitigate identified risks and align with industry best practices; C) Develop and execute realistic incident response plans and exercises that demonstrate proficiency in managing and mitigating security incidents; D) Conduct in-depth forensic analysis using advanced tools and techniques to investigate and document simulated security incidents; E) Create and update comprehensive security policies and procedures that address unique project requirements and align with relevant industry standards; F) Effectively communicate complex cybersecurity concepts, solutions, and recommendations to diverse audiences through professional-quality reports and presentations; G) Demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and deliver a comprehensive cybersecurity project within defined timelines and constraints.
