credits: 3.0 Intended for Psychology Majors. This course will begin with a brief introduction to data and descriptive statistics as they apply to psychological data. We will then focus on the statistical techniques necessary for hypothesis testing and on the inferential statistics used to analyze questions about group differences, and non-experimental hypotheses regarding the relationships among variables. Students will learn to use both hand-held calculators and computers for statistical analyses. Method of Instruction: Lecture and discussion. Method of Evaluation: In-class exams which will include problem solving and short answer.
