MKT 3800 - INTERNATIONAL MARKETING credits: 3.0 With the emergence of a competitive global economy and the trend towards information-based economies, businesses around the world are faced with the complex issues of identifying and satisfying global customer needs for success in international marketing. Course is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of marketing in a multicultural, multinational environment. Objectives: Will examine marketing in a global environment and focus on aspects such as product policy, pricing, and channels of distribution, advertising and promotion, market research, strategic marketing planning and strategy development. Students will conduct research into international companies and marketing practices in selected countries. The course includes marketing case analysis to develop critical thinking arising from the differences between countries, which affect decisions on opportunities, investment and strategies using the marketing mix.
