credits: 4.0 This course is a survey of the principal means of analyzing and evaluating quantitative data. The course will include an introduction to the statistical package MINITAB. Students will use MINITAB to complete a series of laboratory assignments paralleling the development of topics in the lecture sessions. Topics will include: The Design of Statistical Studies (Sampling), Descriptive Statistics, Probability and Probability Distributions, Estimation and Hypothesis Testing, Correlation and Regression. Method of Instruction: Four hours of lecture, discussion, and MINITAB lab assignments. Method of Evaluation: Grades will be based on the evaluation of examinations, written assignments and MINITAB assignments. Meets *MQR Distribution Requirements.
