CSD 2320 - PRINCIPLES OF PHONETICS credits: 3.0 Objectives: A) Demonstrate proficiency in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as it relates to standard and substandard speech patterns; B) Demonstrate knowledge of theories of phonetics and an understanding of the classification and description of speech sounds. Method of Instruction: Lecture, audio, and class transcription. Regular class meetings and individual tutorials will be held for students needing assistance. Method of Evaluation: Written exercises, quizzes, and final exam.
Prerequisite(s): CSD 2100 - INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATIVE DISORDERS and CSD 2250 - LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
