CRJ 4590 - SEMINAR IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE


credits: 3.0
Open to all CRJ (major or minor) juniors and seniors. Counts as dual credit for M.A. in Criminal Justice or M.A. in Homeland Security. This course represents the capstone of the student’s undergraduate study of the criminal justice process. Focus will be on group discussion and major issues in contemporary criminal justice. Emphasis will be on the students’ abilities to focus their investigations, articulate findings and defend their research. Objectives: To synthesize all of the courses taken in the Criminal Justice major. To make critical analysis of key issues in contemporary Criminal Justice and Criminology. Method of Evaluation: Exams, paper and participation. Meets *LAS Distribution Requirement.

Prerequisite(s): JUNIOR OR SENIOR STANDING and MAT 2090 - STATISTICAL METHODS  and CRJ 3311 - CRIMINOLOGY  and CRJ 1010 - INTRODUCTION TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE  (or) JUNIOR OR SENIOR STANDING and MAT 2090 - STATISTICAL METHODS  and CRJ 1010 - INTRODUCTION TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE  and SOC 3311 - CRIMINOLOGY
