ART 4220 - PAINTING IV

Painting IV is an advanced studio course in the fundamental, perceptual and conceptual approaches to painting. Students develop their sensibilities, familiarity and confidence with oil paints, developing their skills and knowledge of painting. The focus will be on the articulation and examination of the visual elements through the confrontation of new ideas, non-traditional mediums, techniques and energies. Subject matter includes: abstract representations, nude models, self-portraits, still-life, and nature. Course includes writing assignments, critical reading analysis, individual and group critiques. Method of Instruction: Studio work with lecture information continuous throughout class. Method of Evaluation: Creativity, appropriation of lesson plan, motivation and amount of exploration and experimentation. Course Fee: $50.00.
