ART 4210 - DRAWING IV credits: 3.0 An advanced course in the fundamental, perceptual and conceptual approaches to drawing. Students develop their sensibilities, familiarity and confidence with a variety of media, ranging from charcoal, ink, dyes, pastels, conte and pencil, enhancing their skills and knowledge of drawing. Focus will be on articulation and examination of the visual elements through the confrontation of new ideas, non-traditional mediums, techniques and energies. Subject matter includes: abstract representations, nude models, self-portraits, still-life, and nature. Course includes writing assignments, critical reading analysis, individual and group critiques. Method of Instruction: Studio work with lecture information continuous throughout class. Method of Evaluation: Creativity, appropriation of lesson plan, motivation and amount of exploration and experimentation. Course Fee: $50.00.
