EDU 3658 - PRACTICUM IN METHODOLOGIES OFTEACHING: VISUAL ARTS credits: 1.0 STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION. This is a practicum component of EDU 3358 . Students will complete a college-supervised field experience with a minimum of thirty-four hours in a Visual Arts K-12 Education setting. Students will apply their course work related to planning and performing Visual Arts teaching methods in classrooms within the local school districts. Graded on a Pass-Fail basis. Objectives: A) Plan and implement appropriate lessons and selection of materials for Visual Arts education students in the field of Visual Arts education; B) Plan and implement appropriate methodologies/instructional strategies for Visual Arts education students in Visual Arts instruction; C) Plan, create, administer and analyze formative and summative assessments appropriate for Visual Arts education students in Visual Arts instruction including for students with special needs; D) Create an age and developmentally appropriate Visual Arts studio/classroom experience; E) Demonstrate respect and positive rapport with students and support a classroom environment conducive to creative expression. Method of Instruction: Classroom experiences where students are implementing their lessons created in EDU 3358 . Method of Evaluation: Observation, Written reflections, Portfolio Assessment, and Participation. Graded on a Pass-Fail basis.
