PSC 1021 - INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS credits: 3.0 Designed to introduce the students to the study of international relations. By examining the ways in which various “actors” of international politics (i.e., democratic and non-democratic states as well as non-state actors such as international organizations, multinational corporations, terrorists, etc.) interact between and among them, the students will learn the dynamics of the politics on the world stage. As an introduction, this course is mainly designed to familiarize the students with the basic concepts and important issues of international relations. Objectives: A) Describe the basic concepts of international relations; B) Describe the current important issues of international relations; C) Demonstrate analytical skills in writing, discussion, and debate. Method of Instruction: Lecture, discussion, article discussions, debates, and some simulated experiences. Method of Evaluation: Examinations, performance during debates, feedback on assigned readings, and class participation. Meets *GLP Distribution Requirement.
