ENV 4590 - SEMINAR: ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES credits: 1.0 This course is 1.0 semester hours each term for a total of 3.0 semester hours. NOTE: If there a limited number of students enrolled for this seminar. This class is a pre-requisite for ENV 4591, Environmental Studies Seminar II. Objectives: A) Integrate the student’s previous course work in environmental studies. B) Provide a “capstone” experience to the undergraduate environmental studies curriculum. C) Prepare the student for graduate, professional, or other advanced training. D) Demonstrate use of the primary sources of information and the scientific literature. Method of Instruction: Students will choose a library research topic or original research investigation to be presented as a seminar and written paper. Method of Evaluation: Read and organize scientific papers and research reports, report on these findings in a seminar setting and write a review on this research, or conduct original research and write a professional paper and present it. Meets *WRT Distribution Requirement.
