PSC 3820 - CRIMINAL LAW I: CONSTITUTIONALCRIMINAL PROCEDURE credits: 3.0 Crosslisted/Same As: CRJ 3820 CRJ 3820 -PSC 3820. Will examine the general principles and theories of criminal procedure, including concepts of due process, arrest, search and seizure, wiretapping, lineups, and other recent developments. The main focus will be federal constitutional criminal procedure; however, some time will be dedicated to exploring differences in procedure among the states. Students will leave with a basic understanding of constitutional law relating to criminal procedure and the sociological, political, and legal issues concerning their application from pre-arrest through final appeal. Method of Instruction: Will be using a semi - Case Study Method-Socratic Method format. Method of Evaluation: Class Participation: 10%, Case Briefs: 10%, and Examinations: 80%. Meets *WEP Distribution Requirement.
