PSC 2410 - PUBLIC POLICY credits: 3.0 A study of American politics from the perspective of public policy-making. How and why are public policies adopted, and what are their consequences? Topics include the stages of the policy process, important groups and institutions in policy formation, and the socio-economic context of policy. Objectives: For students to understand the process by which government policies are developed and implemented, both in terms of the legal process and the political aspect of the process. Method of Instruction: Lectures and class discussion. Method of Evaluation: Class participation, exams, quizzes, and one or more papers. Meets *WEP Distribution Requirement.
