A study of the origins of Judaism in the interpretation of the history of the Hebrew people as the election and providence of God, not only creating a special people but revealing a new understanding of God as ethical monotheism. Objectives: A) To acquire a knowledge of the history of the Jews in the 2000 years of biblical history and its relation to the other cultures in Egypt, Canan and Mesopotamia; B) To understand the formative power of the experience of the Exodus as the paradigm of God’s creative dealing with Israel and the manifestation of the qualities that belong to deity.
