NSC 1975 - APPLIED SCIENCE FOR TEACHERS credits: 3.0 Will provide the student with a fundamental knowledge of the natural sciences. Will include a discussion of the dogmatic experiments at the core of each discipline as well as a discussion of the relationships between the disciplines. Will also provide hands-on activities and experiments to demonstrate these principles. Objectives: A) Identify the fundamental experiments/axioms that define each natural science discipline: B) Explain the hierarchy of the natural science disciplines and how they relate to one another: C) Construct hands-on activities-experiments that explain concepts in the natural sciences using the scientific method: D) Interpret and explain the results of scientific experiments. Method of Instruction: Lectures, group work, and hands-on activity experiments. Method of Evaluation: Exams, quizzes, written experiment reports and a final. Quizzes 20% 200 PTS., Tests 40% 400 PTS., Reports 20% 200 PTS., Final 20% 200 PTS. TOTAL 100%-1000 PTS.
