HIS 2603 - HISTORY OF JAPAN credits: 3.0 This course will analyze Japanese civilization from the earliest times to the present. The identification of themes in the Japanese historical experience and their relevance to modern Japan’s religious, cultural, and economic institutions will receive attention. Objectives: To give students a framework for understanding the ancient and modern elements in Japanese civilization. Method of Evaluation: Two short tests, two papers, classwork, and final exam. Meets *NWP Distribution Requirement.
