FEX 4510 - CAREER RELATED INTERNSHIP credits: 1.0 The Elmira College Internship course is a 6.0 credit requirement for full-time students. Student interns are expected to complete two-hundred forty hours of career related experience with a host organization. The College expects that a minimum of one hour per week of face-to-face supervision will be provided by the host organization above and beyond the usual on-going supervision that occurs in the work place, and that both the intern and the intern’s supervisor will track and verify the required number of hours worked. Also, we expect our students to emerge from their internships with a significant “real world” job experience that will help them qualify for the career of their choice after graduation. To accomplish this goal, experiences provide substantial work activities/projects consistent with those they would need to qualify for an entry-level professional position with an organization. Assigned work should be related to the intern’s career goals and the organization’s objectives.
Prerequisite(s): NEED TO COMPLETE CONTRACT WITH CAREER SERVICES PRIOR TO REGISTRATION
