Will examine post World War II literature of the 50’s and 60’s. Will consider how the literature treats such themes and issues as isolation, alienation, the 50’s fulfillment of the American dream, and the uncertainty of America’s future. Method of Instruction: Lecture and class discussion. Attendance is mandatory and frequent participation is expected. Method of Evaluation: Short paper, a mid-term exam, and a seminar paper. Meets *WEP Distribution Requirement.
