CSD 4590 - SEMINAR AUDIOLOGY credits: 3.0 Designed as an extension of the information students have gained in their first two audiology courses. Topics for discussion will include: Audiologic Assessment for individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Pseudohypacusis, Classroom Acoustics, Auditory Processing from the Audiologist standpoint, Cochlear Implants in the Classroom; Hearing Aids and FM Listening Devices; Assistive Devices. Prerequisite concepts in audiology evaluation and interpretation will be reviewed prior to the introduction of each topic. Method of Instruction: Lecture, readings, student discussions, hands-on demonstration and Internet lectures. Method of Evaluation: Grades will be determined by student participation, quizzes, final examination and a written research paper on one of the major topics covered in the course.
Prerequisite(s): CSD 2300 - HEARING SCIENCE and CSD 2600 - HEARING DISORDERS AND ASSESSMENT
