CRJ 2910 - DISPUTE RESOLUTION:PHILOSOPHY AND PRACTICE credits: 3.0 Designed to develop the student’s knowledge and appreciation of concepts, theories and principles underlying dispute resolution methods in criminal and juvenile justice practices. Following a review of appropriate conceptual and theoretical material, students will participate in a range of experimental activities which seek to foster and cultivate their capacity to understand and utilize conflict resolution techniques. Method of Instruction: The principle instructional methods will include lecture, role-play exercise, small- group exercises and the development of written strategies for amelioration of specific crisis situation. Method of Evaluation: The following four- fold evaluation process will be used for each student: classroom participation (25%), mid-term exam (25%), performance evaluation (25%), and written evaluation of designated altercations (25%).
