CHE 4999 - INTERNSHIP IN CHEMISTRY credits: 3.0 This is a credit variable course, credits are for 3.0 OR 6.0 credits. Meets FEX-Career Related Internship Requirements. Also need to complete a contract with the Office of Career Services, before registering for course. This internship is for students interested in working in any field related to chemistry. The internship may include laboratory analysis in an academic or industry setting, or anything similarly related to a career in the chemical sciences. Students will choose a faculty member to supervise the internship. Objectives: A) Will successfully apply disciplinary knowledge in a setting appropriate to the field of chemistry and B) Students and supervising faculty members will develop at least one additional course-specific learning outcome for the internship. The student will be evaluated by the faculty member on the basis of the learning outcomes. Method of Instruction: Conducted as an internship. Method of Evaluation: The faculty member will assess the final product that was mutually agreed upon. No student can pass the internship without completing the minimum number of hours for a 3.0 credit OR 6.0 credit internship.
Prerequisite(s): Completed Sophomore coursework in the Chemistry or Biochemistry major. Instructor’s Signature Required.
