BIO 1910-CHE 1910 Students will learn how to think scientifically and use scientific method in experiments and labs and apply this scientific approach to the study of food content and food preparation and cooking. The class emphasizes measurement, deductive reasoning, scientific analysis, instrumentation and the design of chemical assays. Method of Instruction: Lab, lecture, discussion, readings, paper, and two projects in the lab. Sixty hours lecture-discussion and thirty-six hours of lab. Method of Evaluation: Two major exams (40%), one final (20%), labs (20%), and paper (20%). Course Fee: $300.00.
