BIO 3042L - BIOCHEMISTRY I LAB credits: 1.0 Crosslisted/Same As: CHE 3042L BIO 3042L-CHE 3042L . This is the laboratory component of the biochemistry course sequence. Students will learn basic biochemical laboratory techniques, including various types of column chromatography to separate proteins. Students will write reports on their experiments to practice scientific writing skills. Objectives: A) Demonstrate appropriate data collection and analysis; B) Perform standard column chromatography techniques; C) Demonstrate professional scientific writing skills. Method of Instruction: Laboratory demonstration, lecture, and hands-on experimentation. Method of Evaluation: Grading for this course will be based on laboratory notebooks (20%), participation (20%), weekly reports (30%), final reports, and poster (30%). Meets *WRT Distribution Requirement. LAB FEE: $125.00.
Co-Requisite(s): MUST BE TAKEN WITH A BIO 3042 OR CHE 3042 LECTURE.
