ART 2220 - PAINTING II credits: 3.0 An intermediate studio course in the fundamental and perceptual approaches to painting in correlation to Painting I. Students will learn to develop familiarity and confidence with painting mediums, with a strong emphasis on oils, utilizing their skill as observers leading to a greater understanding of the visual elements as they relate to painting. Subject matter includes: nude models, self-portraits, still-life, and nature. Course includes brief writing assignments and group critiques. Method of Instruction: Studio work with technical and perceptual and lecture information continuous throughout class. Method of Evaluation: Creativity, appropriation of lesson plan, motivation and amount of exploration and experimentation. Course Fee: $50.00.
