WMS 1220 - REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS

This workshop introduces students to the history and controversies surrounding contraception, family planning, and abortion in the United States. Students will also learn about advocacy for reproductive rights. Meets once per week for a month. Objectives: A) Describe the history of the struggle for reproductive rights in the United States; B) Make an oral argument for reproductive rights; C) Assess the successes and failures of ongoing reproductive rights advocacy at the state and national level. Method of Instruction: Lecture, Discussion, Demonstration, Application (of argument techniques) . Method of Evaluation: 30% Participation, 40% Quizzes, and 30% Presentation of Final Argument.

Prerequisite(s): Cannot add or drop this 1.0 credit workshop once the class has begun.
