SOC 3311 - CRIMINOLOGY credits: 3.0 Crosslisted/Same As: CRJ 3311 CRJ 3311 -SOC 3311, designed to instruct students in the application of scientific method to the study of crime. Includes a discussion of the major theoretical perspectives on crime. Will discuss the methods of studying crime, and the impacts of theory on methods and look at policy implications. Objectives: Review major theories of crime and deviance. Apply theories to official deviance (crime) in American society. Method of Instruction: Lecture and discussion. Method of Evaluation: Exams and written assignment(s). Meets *WRT Distribution Requirement.
