Will deal with the New Testament primarily as an ancient text, analyzing its language, historical context, and concepts. Will also be reading critically to determine what can learn about the communities that produced these writings. No particular religious orientation is assumed or required. Method of Instruction: Lectures and discussion. Method of Evaluation: Several papers, including a research paper, mid-term and final exam.
