PED 1002 - BADMINTON SKILLS

Objectives: To be able to demonstrate all of the basic skills necessary in the playing of badminton in a game situation and be able to supervise the playing of the game. The student will be able to perform: Racquet grips, center position, ready position, footwork, serve, placement areas, overhead clear, drop shot, smash, drives, backhand clear, and recognize and discuss common problems in these skills. Method of Instruction: Lecture and discussion of rules and strategy. Method of Evaluation: Attendance and participation. 90% for accuracy and 85% on all skills, and written exam. Meets *PEW Distribution Requirement.
