CRJ 3200 - JUVENILE DELINQUENCY AND JUVENILEJUSTICE credits: 3.0 A survey of the theories and incidence of juvenile delinquency in our society will be followed by a history of the development of juvenile justice as a unique part of the U.S. justice system. The development of policy in relation to public opinion as well as current theories and practice will be discussed. Objectives: To involve the student in a thoughtful study of the juvenile justice system. Will focus on explanations and accounts of juvenile delinquency. Also, to develop a critical understanding of state and local policies towards juveniles. Method of Instruction: Lecture. Method of Evaluation: Exams and paper(s).
