WMS 1205 - FEMINIST ARGUMENTATION credits: 1.0 This workshop introduces students to the most important feminist arguments from history. Students will also learn how to make and advance feminist arguments in oral and written form. Meets one time per week for a month. Objectives: A) Identify the major feminist arguments from history, including liberal, radical, postmodern, and intersectional feminist movements; B) Appraise the research on what makes written and oral arguments effective; C) Write a feminist argument that engages with issues in modern day feminist concerns; D) Articulate an argument in oral form that engages with issues in modern day feminist concerns. Method of Instruction: Lecture, Discussion, Demonstration, Application (of argument techniques). Method of Evaluation: 20% Participation, 20% Quizzes, 30% Presentation of Final Oral Argument, and 30% Final Written Argument.
Prerequisite(s): Cannot add or drop this 1.0 credit workshop once the class has begun.
