THE 2015 - DIRECTING I credits: 3.0 Acquisition and application of the steps whereby the director translates his concept of a play into theatrical presentation. Among the topics to be covered: Choice of script, analysis of script; the ground plan; casting; the production book; various problems at different phases of the rehearsal period; performance. Method of Instruction: This is a workshop experience. The student will present his assignments in class, and the instructor and class members will provide feedback. Through discussions and demonstrations, the instructor will assist each student-director to improve the production solutions, and gain directorial insight. Method of Evaluation: The instructor will grade each assignment and average them to determine the final grade for the course.
