ART 2000 - VIDEO ART I credits: 3.0 Will introduce the basic techniques and strategies used to produce video art. The student will be instructed in the use of their smartphone or other digital device to capture video/audio. Editing will be taught using iMovie, Garageband and/ or other video/audio editing software. Video, as a creative medium, will be explored in the context of both art and advertising. Each student will produce weekly video projects and will present their projects for class critique. Objectives: To enable the student to learn methods of video art production; to develop and apply video art ideas after lectures on the historical and current directions of Video Art; to produce a final video that will be screened publicly and uploaded to the Internet. Method of Instruction: Demonstration, lecture, discussion, critique, hands-on in-class assignments, gallery visits, and-or field trips. Method of Evaluation: Attendance, class participation, and critical evaluation of all completed projects. Course Fee: $25.00.
