ART 1221 - WATERCOLOR PAINTING credits: 3.0 Studio course in the basic technical and conceptual approaches to watercolor painting, a fundamental course for both majors and non-majors. No previous art experience necessary. Objectives: Will learn basic technical and conceptual approaches to watercolor painting. Will also learn to critique their work and the work of others. Method of Instruction: Different subject matter will be studied, including still-life and landscape. Class meetings will be devoted to studio work with the technical and lecture information given at the beginning of each period. Class work will be done both in the painting studio and on site out of doors. Method of Evaluation: Individual and group critiques. The evaluation of concepts, craftsmanship, creativity, motivation and individual artistic growth as revealed in the student’s work. A final portfolio of work is required. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. Course Fee: $100.00.
