ECS 5360 - Early Childhood Issues credits: 3.0 This course offers opportunity for students to explore and investigate a wide range of current issues concerning preschool children. Topics such as the following may be investigated: Sensitivity to Diversity, Multicultural Programming, AIDS, Child Abuse, Computers in Early Education, Children and Television, School Readiness, Changing Family Trends, and Child-Care Options, Employer Supported Day Care, CDA as an Option to Teacher Development, Effects of Divorce on Young Children, Status and Salaries of Early Childhood Professionals, Providing Child Care for Sick Children, Governmental Responsibility in Early Childhood Care and Education, and how to Identify High-Quality Child Care.
