ART 5110 - Photography I
credits: 3.0
This course will provide a firm grounding in the basics of black and white photography including camera operations, film exposure/development, print enlargement, final portfolio presentation, and a brief history of art photography. Students are responsible for giving themselves assignments based on knowledge gained via technique, critique, the history of photography, the viewing of contemporary photography (both in galleries and in publication) and guest lectures. A final portfolio of 10 prints which have a visual continuity is required. Adjustable 35mm camera is necessary as well as he purchase of film, photo paper, negative sleeves, and matboard. Processing equipment and chemistry provided.
