EDU 5200 - Art Curriculum for Elementary School Children

To provide the educator with an understanding of the intrinsic value and relevance of art in elementary education, its ability to enhance intellectual and creative growth, interdisciplinary learning, cultural awareness, student self-esteem and assessment. Student will gain basic knowledge of the principles and elements of art, studio production, aesthetics, art history, and art criticism. This course is experiential and lecture/research oriented and facilitates individual creative development as well as presenting core curriculum.
