EDU 5040 - Inclusive Schooling credits: 3.0 This course explores the historical and theoretical trends on general and special education reform. Specifically, the course will highlight strategies to achieve a unified system of public education that strives to incorporate all children and youth as active, fully participating members of the school community. Discussion will focus on general skills and knowledge needed by educators to provide appropriate instructional programs for students with diverse needs. A special focus will be placed on methods for integrating students with severe and multiple disabilities.
